I would go vegan but I think about
the way the half&half enters my coffee in the morning
and it reminds me of lipstick and pianos and
every tear I've ever cried and all the times
I've been up in the middle of the night
my heart racing and how skin feels and the hundreds
of turns my life could take and
how much better I'll feel when I've
poured that light brown goodness into my throat
